Every year, Verbier hosts the final of the Freeride World Tour as part of the Xtreme event. After touring the planet, the world’s best freeriders come together for the final round of the competition on the legendary “Bec des Rosses”, culminating at an altitude of 3,222 m. The narrow corridors and extreme slopes of the north face ensure a breathtaking show. A guaranteed adrenalin rush for the audience at the Gentianes!
Alongside the incredible scenes to be witnessed throughout the weekend, the emphasis is on preventing risks linked to offpiste skiing : athletes share their passion while insisting on the importance of acquiring a full knowledge of mountain conditions and of using the indispensable freeride equipment.
The resort centre will be enlivened by a number of freeride fi lms shown on giant screens, as well as base jump shows and autograph sessions with the riders.

The Mont-Fort ski run is the venue for the final of the speed skiing World Cup. Hardly surprising, since it was on this steep slope that the speed of 200 km/hr was beaten for the first time in Switzerland!

Patrouille des Glaciers
The Patrouille des Glaciers is an international ski mountaineering race organised by the Swiss Armed Forces in which military and civilian teams compete.
The race routes leading from Zermatt to Verbier or from Arolla to Verbier must be completed in one single stage. This unique competition is characterised by its length, the challenges of the alpine environment, the altitude and the course profile.
